FAQ

Here are the answers to some of our most Frequently Asked Questions.

If you are an existing JBCS customer, who already pays upkeep for their existing solution (such as hosting for a website / web app) documentation hosting is likely to be something that can be offered as a free extra for your solution.
Documentation Creation is something that will be touched upon when you have a price quoted for your solution (if using JBCS for said solution). Creation of documentation for an existing project is possible, but may incur further costs.

You can have documentation hosted on jbcs docs for a program not created by JBCS. However, JBCS cannot create documentation for a solution we did not create.
You can create your own documentation for your solution and have it hosted if you wished to do so. However, it may require editing in order to be constructed into documentation pages.
Documentation created yourself must be presented as plain text. You can indicate styling requests (such as a lead paragraph Like This) or to have parts formatted as code like this (or other similar styling differences).

This is to keep in line with the design of jbcs docs, to ensure all documentation pages fit with the theme of the site, ensuring you're left with professional, readable documentation.
We offer free refinements for all the documentation we host (Subject to our fair use policy)
Our Fair Use Policy can be found on the main jbcs site. The fair use policy limits refinements to a number that is deemed reasonable, and for a reasonable amount of work which would still be counted as a refinement rather than an update.

If you need an update rather than a refinement, you can contact support. Dependant on the size of the update, and the current upkeep plan you have, this may incur a further cost.
If you have a solution developed by JBCS, and we create documentation for you, this can be taken elsewhere.
If you have an existing solution that you wish to have documentation created for, and we are able to create documentation for you, this can also be taken elsewhere. If we created the documentation as a complementary service, and we didn't develop your solution, we may charge a small exit fee (to cover the costs involved with documentation creation that hadn't been charged for) however in a majority of cases, this will be waived.

We only charge an exit fee where we have NOT charged for the creation of your documentation, and where we didn't develop your original solution. Where neither of these conditions apply, there will never be an exit fee.
If you have a particular design in mind for your documenation, we can work to try and incorporate that for you. If it simply won't work within the framework of JBCS docs, we can still offer to host your documentation. However, if we have to design an entirely new system for your documentation pages, this may incur a further cost. Another option is to have your documentation as a PDF to easily incorporate your graphic design (you can create in apps such as adobe illustrator or photoshop) or other similar ways.
